Usage and nuance
Code Geass's commanders bark よし before an order, and in Tensura Rimuru says よし、見えるようにしてやろう, "alright, I'll let you see it". It marks the moment a decision is made.
Variants: よっしゃ! is a triumphant "yes!", よーし is "okay, here we go", and よしよし is the "there, there" said while patting someone.
Japanese workplaces point at things and call out ヨシ! to confirm safety checks, which became the "Genba Neko" cat meme. よし is the old form of いい, "good".
