Jouhou means "information" or "intelligence" in the spy sense. It is the currency of thrillers like Death Note, Psycho-Pass and Spy x Family: 情報を集める ("to gather information"), 情報が漏れた ("the information leaked").

Usage and nuance
Cowboy Bebop's bounty hunters buy 情報; Sword Art Online's players trade 情報 about bosses; Loid in Spy x Family lives on it. It is a formal, written-feeling word, so characters who say it sound professional.
Compounds: 情報屋 (jouhouya) is an informant, 個人情報 is personal data, 情報戦 is information warfare.
The casual word for news between friends is ニュース or 話 (hanashi). 情報 implies something gathered and used.
